The house

Lacassagne is a charming guest house partly built in the 18th century. Originally, this building was certainly used to store Armagnac barrels. In the local architectural language we speak here of “Gersoise”, that is to say of a long house, with just a small part upstairs. Located about 500 meters below the village of Larressingle, this house is a blend of comfort and authenticity. It is located in the middle of six hectares, four being used by a farmer who cultivates organic crops and two forming a park planted with oaks and pines. Three guest rooms and large common areas, open to travelers, offer a total change of scenery in the middle of the countryside. Here no televisions, but hundreds of books, paintings, carpets, sculptures … Here, little internet, almost no network for laptops … We are in the white zone … and very happy to be there. In return, squirrels, hinds, foxes, passerines, owls fly and frolic in the meadows!

Living rooms

 Lalibela : The “Grand Salon”

Yunnan : The “Petit Salon”

Much more intimate, we nestle in deep armchairs in front of a fireplace. The library is full of foreign books where many languages rub shoulders.

Two large portraits of asian women scrutinize you. The huge table hosts breackfast, wich is served between 8 and 10 am. The library in this room is filled with beautifull picture books.

Mandalay : The corridors leading to the bedrooms

It is the piercings gaze of “Nats” coming directly from Burma, that we take the corridor leading to the three guest rooms…

Rajasthan : The covered terrace

Used throughout the year, this terrace welcomes travelers on arrival. Eighty square meters where there is a living room, a hanging bed and a dinning room wich is used for breakfast in summer.

Bali : The swimming lane

Located below the house, a swimming lane of respectable size: 19 m long, 3 m wide and 1.5 m deep will be finished in May 2021. Maintained at constant temperature by a heat pump and secured by an electric curtain integrated in the swimming pool, this beautiful piece of water will be bordered by a terrace / bath beach of 120 square meters.
